Haunted House Part 3 and the Potato Peeler

At one time I was a Tupperware Dealer. I bought this wonderful potato peeler from there. It had special steel blades and a hand friendly shape. It peeled like no other. I loved it. One day I accidentally set it down with a pile of potato peelings and threw it out. Luckily I was able to order another one from Tupperware before they discontinued them. This time I was much much more careful and particular about this peeler. This all happened when I lived in Az. before coming here to Missouri and the haunted house. What does this have to do with the hauntings?..well let me tell you. I moved to Missouri and my precious peeler came along too.
I was making stew and had peeled some vegetables. I set the peeler on the counter when I was finished. I went about cleaning up. When I went to get the peeler, it was gone! Now I involved the whole family. My special, German steel bladed, hand friendly, made by tupperware, irreplaceable potato peeler was gone and I wanted it found! We looked everywhere! In the trash, the sink, on the floor, in drawers, the refridgerator, just everywhere! I knew I had left it on the counter. The counter was clean and it was nowhere! I was begining to think I had lost my mind. I thought the family was playing a joke on me. They weren't. They were quite perturbed to be taken away from what they had been doing to help find Mom's stupid potato peeler. They didn't take it and they wanted to find it so they could get back to what they were doing. It was just ... nowhere. We all continued to look for it on and off throughout the day. I finally resigned myself to the fact that it was just gone. I mean I couldn't spend the rest of my life looking for it. It was "just a peeler" after all.
The next day we all went to town. We needed a few groceries and had a couple errands to run. When we got home and we all went to the kitchen. There it was. The peeler was sitting right there on the counter near where I thought I had left it. In plain sight. It wasn't glowing but it should have been! We all looked at the peeler and at each other with our jaws dropped in disbelief. We all laughed nervously and cracked jokes about how the "Ghost" must have needed to borrow the peeler.
This is one of the experiences in the house that has really bothered me. At that time I was still getting used to strange noises and my kids being frightened of the basement..and me too for that matter. (I still hate to admit that because I do laundry down there.) It just bothered me that the ghost could take something physical and make it disappear. I mean CAN THEY DO THAT? Is that allowed in the ghost rules of conduct? Weird! Bothersome! Scary! Glad it gave the peeler back though. Thanks.

Now I've heard of people "talking" to their ghosts, so maybe you could do one of those "Hey! Could you please bring my peeler back?" kinda talks. And you need some major humor to all of this, otherwise you'll be scared witless. It sounds like it isn't scary or dangerous, just a prankster. Maybe you need a name or something to make light of it for the kids and your sake! Good luck. Weeeeoooohh.... (that's my scary ghost movie music):)

Do you ever watch the Ghost Hunters show? They say to just reclaim your house and tell them to either get out of leave you alone.

Demons are different though and I've heard them use the name of Jesus in telling them what to do.

I don't like to feel like I'm being watched and can't be alone in my own house. I anointed my house with oil at the windows and doorways dedicating my house to God at the advise of a friend and prayed blessings, thanking the Lord for providing my home for us and asking him to rid me of the unwanted visitors!

I haven't had trouble since, but have to wonder if I'm asking for trouble with my interests in the paranormal.

Okay, since you are posting about your ghost I will tell you about ours. His name is George and he lived in our house - in fact he built the house and just never left. He would and every now and then still does move things. His favorite thing to do was to turn our alarm off so we would be late getting up. That is, until I told him that if we lost our jobs we could lose the house and the new people might not be as tolerant of him as we are. He loves to terrorize our jack russel Maestro. Maestro has a specific chair in the house he is allowed to sit on - George will go sit in the chair and Maestro jumps out of the chair tail tucked between his legs and runs off - I'll tell George to please get out of the chair so Maestro can have his chair back - until I tell George to move Maestro will not go back onto his chair. Every now and again you can hear George upstairs walking around or sometimes I think I catch him out of the corner of my eye in the kitchen. He really liked to play tricks on us in the garage - we had a motion sensor that would go off for no reason - we would see the light go off and run out to see what it was and nothing - no animal or bug flying around - He loved to misplace my husbands tools. I asked the next door neighbors about the previous homeowners and they said that George died in his beloved house, that he was a practical joker, and it sounded like George was our ghost - so we call him George. Glad to know I'm not the only one with a Ghost! Oh, and my Mom swears we brought him with us one Christmas for a visit and thought we had left him because some strange things were happening at her house right after we left but I assured her that he would not leave our house. I think!

This story was fantastic. I've never had a ghost take anything, but I swear they're turned on lights.

Also I wanted to stop by and tell you that I finally decided on a winner for my cuff giveaway. I picked your "eternal daydream". Please send an email of your address so I can get that sent out. Thank you so much for stopping by and playing and congrats on your new cuff.

That would drive me crazy! I get spooked easily and that would not help. My dad has always seen ghosts or spirits, since he was a kid..freaky stuff.

Well, now I have to attest to the fact that, yes, physical things can be moved and then returned. Used to happen to our mail. At the time, my mom and I lived alone in a place that used to house a little old lady named Mrs. Wolfe. Sometimes, our mail would disappear from the mail spot on the table WHERE WE JUST PUT IT AND WE KNOW IT WAS THERE. My mom would yell, "Mrs. Wolfe, you put that back...it is our mail!" and often it would be there the next day, right where it ought to have always been...
